Recently there have been multiple posts reacting to stereotypes and common norms that end up giving people a generalised perspective on a race or a certain culture. For instance this video by Steven Lim touches on how stereotypes can greatly influence how a person sees himself and how he interacts with others. We had UN week and had multiple instances to share cultures. But outside of school, I met certain stereotypes. These stereotypes have ranged from fun and light hearted stereotypes to the ugly more offensive. I decided to give three stereotypes for each category.
