It all started, as best I can tell, when the Wall Street Journal did a story recently on the pantyhose generation gap. Even on conservative Wall Street, the newspaper reported, women were going bare-legged. We're the Midwest. Since then, pantyhose talk has proliferated. Pantyhose have been debated on blogs, in other newspapers, and on "Good Morning America," which featured a story called "Workplace Protocol: Is Pantyhose Over? Then Michelle Obama went on "The View" and said she hates pantyhose. Barbara Walters agreed.
In case you haven't heard, pantyhose are making a comeback. Thanks to Kate Middleton and royal protocol, the Internet has been teeming with images of the princess and her super-sheer, super-shimmery legs. Hosiery sales in Great Britain are spiking, and the rest of the world seems poised to follow suit.
