Because my Iceland blog posts are looooong overdue and this one is for the beauty girls…. Back in March I went to Iceland and I promise I have a FULL travel guide in the works but, for now, I wanted to share exactly why Iceland is an amazing beauty destination and yes, I was most excited for the lagoons when we planned this trip! I went to figure out exactly what is up with all things Icelandic beauty. I bought myself a glass of champagne and took full advantage of the degree water even though it was probably about 30 degrees outside. One thing any visitor would immediately notice about Iceland is that the country as a whole is extremely environmentally conscious. Everything I tried was chock full of good-for-your-skin ingredients like sulfur, Icelandic moss, kelp, seaweed, naturally derived salt and volcanic ash…basically your skin will never look softer or smoother than when you use any skincare product made in Iceland.
A Comprehensive Guide to Visiting the Blue Lagoon in Iceland
DIY: Iceland’s Blue Lagoon Mud Mask – Vagabond3
Hey guys just wanted to do a quick review on the blue lagoon silica mud mask. I am staying at the blue lagoon hotel tomorrow so will review that later but i bought the mask from their city store while in Reykjavik town. I was hesitant so this is for anyone who is wanting to spend that money to buy it but then doubt yourself. Do it! I used it last night and today my skin is soft and glowing. Had 1 pretty big breakout and it's now flat and gone.
After four days in Iceland , I was pretty stoked to arrive at the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing massage, mud bath and geothermal soak. Even though it was freezing outside, the warm waters immediately perked me up and I felt all my worries and stress just melt away. After a long time of just enjoying the warm water and lounging in the thermal hot steam room, I was ready to try the silica mud that everyone had been talking about. It was super white, and after applying it all over my face, arms and shoulders, it dried pretty much immediately. In fact, I overheard a few ladies from London say that this was their third time to the Blue Lagoon- that year, they loved the stuff that much.
The Blue Lagoon is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. The steamy milky blue water against the black lava rock landscape creates an otherworldly setting like no other. Sitting in the hot waters of the geothermal spa can be a truly intoxicating and relaxing experience. Its proximity to both the Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik make it a perfect pit stop even if you are only in Iceland for a short layover.
