Cub Scouts lets kids have fun while teaching them skills that will help them later on. From the thrill of shooting an arrow to learning how to transform a block of wood into a race car, Cub Scouts is one thrill after another. In Scouting, everything has a purpose and it shows kids that doing their best is the most fun of all! There will be things like archery, field sports, and hikes to keep the kids active. That will probably be handled by the day camp staff, but what about the rest of the time? There are parts of the day when you want the boys to catch their breath. So here are a few quiet activities to keep your Cubs minds working.
Does that question really need to be asked? I mean really, we are talking about boys here—young boys. Even for the older boys and us adults too, if it is something we enjoy doing, we try to do more of it. That is just common sense. The thing we need to remember here is that FUN is just one of the purposes, not our only purpose.
