Description: Features 2 Comments views Glory holes. Pomegranate sized apertures drilled between toilet cubicles, booths in adult bookstores or installed privately through bedsheets or mattresses. For a long time, glory holes were the domain of the gay community, the impersonal nature of which aided their need for anonymity particularly in times and places where homosexuality was illegal , but as VICE squads grew wiser to popular locations, users moved; erotic bookstores came to be a popular choice. Updated March 07, A bird that was sucked into a massive "glory hole" in a Californian reservoir survived a turbulent metre drop and flew away unharmed after being shot out "like a bullet". Water began flowing into Lake Berryessa's Morning Glory Spillway, which is known by locals more colourfully as the "glory hole", following recent heavy rains. In a video posted online, a cormorant can be seen drifting for a few seconds along the water as it is pulled toward the metre-wide, metre-deep drain. It then tumbles over the edge and into the water funnel, in what the spillway's owner's spokeswoman Brionna Ruff presumed was a fatal plunge.
However, the institution's latest acquisition is raising more eyebrows than most. Carved out of a wooden door, the glory hole was saved from the demolition of an old Perth train station by local man Neil Buckley. Buckley donated the historic item to WA Museum's Perth location, believing it to be of historic value. My husband knows pretty much everything there is to know about my life today.
