In Monty Python's "Meaning of Life," a father sings a song to his 50 plus children crowded around their living room. Here's a link to the song from the movie. When Monty Python performed the song, I'm quite confident they didn't intend for anyone to hear it as anything other than satire. It is not to be taken seriously.

According to the interview with Palin on the DVD extras, he said "at the end of my sock" in the original scene, with the word "cock" being overdubbed later. This was done because the scene featured numerous underage children and the Pythons were already concerned they were "pushing the limit. I'm just reading Michael Palin's diaries, which are excellent. He talks about this a bit, and mentions the only thing that was dubbed was him saying 'cock', he said 'sock' in front of the children. I find it mildly amusing that the people blamed for moral panic and bringing the BBC into disrepute wouldn't even say "cock" around children, while national hero, marathon runner, charity worker and saviour of TV Jimmy Savile was balls deep in them.
